First things first: what is pi?

Pi, also written as the Greek letter π, is the ratio of a circle’s circumference (the outside edge) to its diameter (the longest distance across). In other words, it’s the infinite number that you get when you divide the circumference of a circle by its diameter.

And for every circle in the world, that number is always the same. That number is 3.1415926535… and on to infinity, without any repeating numbers or patterns.

Now, can you guess why March 14 was chosen as Pi Day?

To celebrate Pi Day, we’ve got some recipes cooking and some poetry books to read. And be sure to check out the official Pi Day website!

Now, let’s get ready for poetry, pie, and pi!
